Today we live in an era full of people willing to change. We have a President who’s campaign was built around change, groups and organizations promoting change any and everything from what we should be allowed to do to who we should be allowed to marry. One cannot go anywhere in this country without someone willing to change their view on something. The issue with this is there are millions of people trying to change other millions and their efforts often go unsuccessful because their cause for change isn’t the right cause.
Many people want to live comfortable and changing your environment is the quickest way to do so. But people never seem to look inside, they never think to say, “Maybe I can lead by example. Maybe I can be the change I want to see instead of preaching the change I want to see.”
This world is a world run by influence, and the best way to influence others to be what you want them to be is by you, yourself being what you want to be. If you want to promote diversity, open your mind and be more diverse. You want to see more creativity, be creative with your own thought processes. You want support, support others. Each individual has a circle of influence and many of these circles overlap. Be yourself and the image you would like to see in others and it’ll show. Change doesn’t start with a rally, change starts with you. Take a minute and see if you are the person you want to be and if you reflect the values you want to instill in others. From there you can make change, but it has to start inside.
